Bournemouth University has more than 19,000 students and we are ranked as one of the top 200 young universities in the world, but our ambition doesn’t stop there. I am immensely proud of the quality of the teaching at Bournemouth University, which was recognised in June 2017 when we achieved a silver award in the Teaching Excellence and Student Outreach Framework (TEF). This award has now been extended, to 2021. Our research shapes and changes the world around us, providing solutions to real-world problems and informing the education we deliver. Our students are a key part of the research we conduct, co-creating knowledge with us and playing a crucial role in everything that we do. In the Research Excellence Framework 2014 96% of our research was defined as internationally recognised or higher, with 72% deemed to have an outstanding or very considerable impact on society.
